Well as you may have read in my last blog I was getting ready for school and work. I am currently about a month into that now and its been a lot easier then expected! Although, now the real work has begun.. tests, quizzes, exams. I swear they plan it all for the same day! But none the less it hasn't been as hard to manage as I thought it would be.
Many things have happened since I last wrote. I received my official acceptance letter to my university, I put down my non-refundable deposit and I received the day I will be (most likely) flying out... January 1! Dun Dun Dun. Which leads me to say I have officially run into less then 90 days until I take off. I received more set dates in the next couple weeks and I will also be buying my plane ticket as well. I am hoping I will be able to fly out with someone or at least meet someone in the states to fly to Ireland with. My mom and I have bought small things for when I leave such as bedding (had to have at least 300 count! I sound like such a snob!), pillow, jacket, alarm clocks and little things like that. I still need to buy a few more things before I leave but I catch myself wanting to buy everything (impulsive much?)!
I would say yesterday was the first time in awhile I was more excited then I was nervous. I spoke with my study abroad adviser from school and she set me up with this girl that just came back from the same university I am staying at! She was only there for a few weeks because she only participated in the summer program. I found out after I met her that I actually have a class with her! She filled me in on everything! She said that the word "crack" means fun, and they tell time by saying things like its 20 till or its 10 till. They never say the exact time! We sat and talked for over 2 hours on the things she did and the things I need to do. I felt like a heavy load of nerves were lifted off my shoulders going in with some knowledge.. not just from a book! We have been pretty good friends since then. She has family over in Ireland and she said she would have them get in touch with me! Her uncle works for Garda.. I think mom felt relieved to hear about that haha.
Anyways, I feel like so much has happened so far and I hear its only the beginning of the things I need to do before I leave. Time is flying and work and school are not making it going any slower. My family is going to the travel agent soon to get all the information they need for when they come to visit. I am so excited to be able to share my experience with my family. Until next time, I will be working hard to earn extra money and earn better grades (3.5 is my goal this year!.. BIGGER scholarship!).
Can't wait until next time!
